A full renovation of a floor in this 1926 building first involved removal of the lowered ceilings, narrow corridors, shiny lino floors, plywood doors and poor lighting from the 80s.

Removal of the wooden box frames from the 1920s ceiling beams revealed a unique wood-grain like texture in the concrete that was emulated in additional areas of concrete through use of the same type of wooden framing.

Effortlessly flowing from the lounge to the outdoor living area, nestled by the stunning concrete fireplace, you’re embraced by the opulence and warmth, promising a comfortable stay.

The pool offers another aspect of understated luxury in this home. The infinity style edge; reminiscent of tropical trips away, creates a waterfall over the side and reiterates the importance of ‘simple’ and ‘spacious’ in the commodious house.

Storm water pipes were recessed within the walls, coming out as a copper pipe feature when they are eventually revealed. Exposed copper pipes have been used in lieu of plastic conduit to conceal data and power cables.

A large part of one of the external brick walls was taken down to create a sunny external deck area with brick balustrade and a bank of large sliding doors.

Maintaining a simple, yet grandiose style, the kitchen focuses on not over complicating the space and creating an area for the whole family to gather.

The stained oak staircase evokes the sensation of luxury. It is here that the passion and effort put in by the builders is clear and elevates the unique character of this home.

Open plan office spaces and polished concrete floors throughout give a sense of continuity to the office and a look much more in keeping with its art deco heritage.
